Business are starting to open for Black Friday sales early on Thanksgiving. This isn't new, it's slowly been heading that way. It isn't because Walmart is trying to keep its workers from being with their families on the holiday. Target isn't trying to turn everyone into atheists, besides Thanksgiving isn't a religious holiday anyway. Do you want to know why they are opening on Thanksgiving? It's because of what I saw last night at Best Buy, 3 tents outside the building. 3 days before the sales even begin people are lining up. The obvious next step for a retailer is to open the doors earlier. Would you rather have your customers waiting outside for you to open or would you rather have them inside buying stuff? The solution isn't to boycott the retailers, the solution is to stop being self-centered me first consumers. Don't worry, Apple will make enough "iWhatevers" to go around. There's no special reward for being the first to get it.
I came across this post online and had to share. Epic joke fail. One person that couldn't tell a joke and one person that didn't get it. The names have been changed to protect the ignorant.

"One question that has been settled this election cycle is that the people who work for the main stream media are nothing more than democratic party operatives with a byline.
Believe nothing they write or say, ignore them, turn them off and buy nothing from the companies that advertise in their publications or on their shows!" I was sent this on Facebook, I'm not sure who originally wrote it. Mainstream media usually means: CBS News, CNN, ABC News, Fox News, MSNBC, New York Times, Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times. Most of these are owned by larger corporations so you have to boycott the parent company and all subsidiaries, right? And that quote calls for a boycott of any business that advertises on them. CBS News is owned by CBS, so if you boycott CBS you have to boycott CBS television and its 14 stations CBS radio and all of its 125+ stations All CBS online including Last.fm and CNET Simon & Schuster and it's various imprints The CW, Showtime, The Movie Channel, FLIX and SET CNN is Time-Warner. I'm not sure I have time to list everything they own, but it includes everything from cable channels, movie studios, magazines (including D.C. Comics). ABC News is Disney. If you thought Time-Warner had a long list, Disney's is almost double. Fox News obviously Fox and Rupert Murdoch owns a shitload of media also. The Washington Post Co. owns a handful of print media and television stations, as does the New York Times, and the L.A. Times is a Tribune Company which owns media, print, radio and internet outlets. So the person calling for this boycott is basically telling you no matter how small a business is, if they advertise on one of the assets owned by the above companies, don't buy from them. Don't buy anything from your uncle that advertises his hardware store on local station WKBD in Detroit because that station is owned by the mainstream media. Are you starting to see how ridiculous this boycott sounds? If you know anything about me, you know that I pretty much believe that there is no black and white. That isn't any different with unions. My job is non-union, I don't believe a union would benefit me in my job. That doesn't mean I don't understand the benefit of unions, in certain situations for certain jobs, unions are great, just not for mine. The last thing I want is some organization trying to force their beliefs on me. Think of it this way: I'm pro-bacon, I think it's the greatest thing in the world, but I understand that bacon shouldn't be combined with... no, you know what, bad analogy, bacon goes great with everything. Unions aren't bacon, so keep your pro-union organization away from my job
How different is your life today than it was 4 years ago? Did it change that much? Was it for the better or worse? Were those changes cause by an elected official? I have a better job and a better car, I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with politics. 2009, that year sucked. I'll admit, I pissed and moaned and blamed others, but I soon realized what the problem was, me. Once I started taking responsibility for my own actions things got a hell of a lot better. It's not the President's fault your life sucks. Then again, I did have a girlfriend in 2008 and I'm single in 2012. I think Obama might be cock-blocking me.
